You did it!

Posted by: Kevin B. Gilnack, Campaign Manager

Late last night, the Senate voted to include our amendment to provide a much needed $20 million annualized Salary Reserve for human service workers in its budget proposal!

This would not have been possible without your advocacy. Whether you came to The Caring Force rally, visited legislators, sent emails, made phone calls, sent tweets, invited friends & family to join, or just took the simple step of joining The Caring Force yourself, you made a huge difference.

The journey, however, is not over. Next the Senate and House will appoint conferees – three legislators from each chamber who will negotiate what parts of each chambers’ budget will be included in the final budget.

We’ll keep you posted as that process progresses, but I want you to know that you made a tremendous difference in helping the fight for a stronger human services system in Massachusetts.

Our Senate champions deserve an incredible amount of credit for their work to secure this funding. I hope you'll consider leaving them a thank you note on their Facebook pages.

Here's a sample message you could use:

Thank you so much for providing desperately needed relief for the workers who make the Commonwealth's human service system so strong through the Salary Reserve. The Caring Force and all human service supporters appreciate your leadership!

Thank you for all that you do!
