I’ve never seen this happen, and it’s all your fault
Late last night, the Massachusetts House of Representatives approved a $7.5 million fund to provide one-time payments to low-paid human service workers. I can't remember the last time that we saw the House include funding for human service worker salaries in their budget proposal, but I think this progress is a sign your advocacy is paying off! An immediate threat to the Salary Reserve
Your hard work and the efforts of our legislative champions helped secure a Salary Reserve this summer, despite the Governor's veto. Our direct care workers were anticipating receiving their first annualized raise in five years before the holidays.
